Using your products
Install a plugin
These steps are the same for most Minecraft plugins. Each product page and our docs add the details for that product.
Before you begin
- Check the product page for the Minecraft versions and server software it supports (for example Paper or Spigot).
- Read the product's requirements: some plugins need other plugins.
- Make a backup of your server.
Install
- Download the plugin from your account page.
- Stop your server.
- Put the .jar file in the server's plugins folder. Unzip first if you downloaded a .zip that holds more than one file.
- Start the server and watch the console for errors.
- If the plugin uses a license key, paste it in the plugin's configuration file and restart. See "Get your license key".
- Edit the configuration to your liking and restart again.
